ACT for INDIA is one of the elite initiatives taken by the District Administration of Calicut for the development of the city. ACT for INDIA comprises of some innovative projects that can help to achieve a new face for Calicut on its fast track of development. With the successful execution of all the schemes that we have in plan, we can surely achieve the milestone: a pollution free, prosperous and harmonious Calicut.
One among our initiatives, “SPARSAM” is a successful venture for Poverty alleviation and Reformation of the riot affected Sea belt Areas of Malabar. It’s hard to go through a communal riot like Marad and then maintain the communal amity while rehabilitating the victims. Another project “MAP” aims to make Calicut, India’s First plastic free District by 26 Jan 2011.
Project “Snehasangamam” is related to the renovation of Thali Temple and Kuttichira Mishkal Masjid to maintain our cultural heritage. Our commitment to bring transparency and accessibility to essential public services paved the way for Nirman, a first ever effort in India to automate and remove the complexities in the sand distribution system.
